New Pittsburgh-Area Casino Prepares To Debut

Live! Casino opens Nov. 24 in a former Bon-Ton department store.

HEMPFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA — Rivers Casino on the North Shore is getting some Westmoreland County competition. The $150 million Live! Casino will debut Nov. 24 in the former Bon-Ton department store in Westmoreland Mall.

Live! Casino will feature:

  • More than 100,000 square-feet of gaming, dining and entertainment space.
  • 750 slots and approximately 30 live action table games.
  • Approximately 6,400 parking spaces.
  • New dining and entertainment venues, including Sports & Social Steel City, a sports restaurant, gaming venue and social lounge. The 445-seat, two-level venue will be outfitted with state-of-the-art audio-visual technology, including a 45-foot high LED video screen, and a wide variety of interactive social games such as bowling, a golf simulator, ping pong, darts and more.

The casino is expected to create about 500 new jobs. It was developed by an affiliate of The Cordish Companies, the developer of Live! dining, entertainment, gaming, hotel and sports-anchored destinations around the country.
