New Restaurant Replaces Legendary Pittsburgh Tavern

PITTSBURGH, PA — Excuses was an iconic Pittsburgh bar specializing in live music and open mic nights. Nearly two years after its July 2022 closure after 34 years, the space on East Carson Street in the city's South Side is now occupied again.
Kulcher Kitchen & Bar, at East Carson and 26th Street, is having a soft opening this week and will open full-time next week.
"As we prepare to make our mark in the 412, we desire to invigorate you, crafting memories embracing the complex comfortability and individuality that you've been searching for," the eatery's website states.

The menu includes smash burgers, lettuce wraps, tacos, rice bowls, brisket, spare ribs, wings, stir fry and loaded macaroni and cheese.
