New Scottish Pub Opens In Pittsburgh

The pub debuted over the weekend in one of the city's oldest buildings.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Aftertwo years of extensive renovations, the Woods Run House has opened in Hazelwood. The Scottish-themed pub, located on Monongahela Street, debuted over the weekend in one of Pittsburgh's oldest structures.

Built in 1792, the John Woods Houseis believed to be built by Colonel George Woods, the surveyor who laid out the Golden Triangle in 1784. His son, John Woods, completed the drafting before finishing his law degree. Recognized for its historical and architectural importance, the Woods House has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 1993.

The menu features items such Guiness steak pie, fish and chips, crisps and bread pudding with Scottish whiskey sauce.

The pub currently is open from 5:30 p.m.to 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 11: 30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays. Reservations are required.
