New Tavern Replacing Longtime Pittsburgh Restaurant
New life is being breathed into a space that once housed a Pittsburgh eatery for nearly 40 years. Get the details here.
PITTSBURGH, PA — After nearly 40 years in business, Murray Avenue Grill, on Murray Avenue in Squirrel Hill, shuttered its doors for good last month.
The space will not be vacant for long.
The former restaurant is being remodeled and will reopen soon as the Steel Town Tavern.The tavern's logo already has been placed on the bar's front windows.

"Our goal is to bring an old-school Pittsburgh tavern feel back to the neighborhood," a post on the establishment's Facebook page stated.
"Whether you’re stopping in for lunch, dinner, or a late-night bite, Steel Town Tavern is your new neighborhood gathering spot. Come celebrate with us, meet the team, and be part of the new beginning. We can’t wait to welcome you."

The post stated that the ongoing renovations will be minor and an opening date will be announced "as we navigate through our remodel."
A menu is not currently online. The tavern plans to be open daily from 11 a.m. to midnight.
