Ohio Township Shooting: 2 Men Dead Near Avonworth High School
The early morning incident rocks a normally quiet suburban neighborhood.

PITTSBURGH, PA - A quiet neighborhood in suburban Ohio Township was awakened by gunfire in a shooting incident that left two men dead.
The incident occurred around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday at 132 Rebecca Drive when James Westover, 56, was shot and killed after leaving his home and walking to his vehicle, according to Allegheny County Police. A woman inside the home called police twice, first two report gunfire, then to report that a male with a gun was attempting to enter the home.
Police arrive on the scene and encountered a male dressed in all black with a gun. The male refused multiple commands to put the gun down and lifted his weapon to fire, according to a county police statement. Police opened fire and the man fell to the ground.

Police initially on the scene said they could not be certain if the unidentified suspect, 62, was shot by police or committed suicide; the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office will determine the cause and manner of death.
The Ohio Township shooting resulted in a two-hour delay for the Avonworth School District this morning, Rebecca Drive is located near the Avonworth middle and high school campus.
