Operation Santa Organizers Have Nowhere To Stage Popular Carnival
Organizers of the event for military families thought they had a location for the event. This week, they suddenly found they did not.

ROBINSON TOWNSHIP, PA — Organizers of the popular Operation Santa military family carnival are scrambling to find a new location after the owners of the space they had rented abruptly told them the event couldn't be held there.
The non-profit organization Heroes Supporting Heroes was going to hold the carnival at the former Sears location at the Mall at Robinson. But earlier this week, just as volunteers were arriving to begin setting up and decorating for the event, the organization received an email saying it would have to find another space.
"Our military kids and families deserve all of our support," a post on the Heroes Supporting Heroes Facebook page stated. "If you know of a large space that could help us out, or you are willing to stand with us in support, please visit operationsantapgh.com."

The mall owners told the organization they could not assist the group because they do not own the Sears building, WPXI-TV reported. The owner, Transformco, could not be reached for comment.
According to the Operation Santa website, more than 3,500 people are expected to attend this year's carnival. Additionally, the organization will have the support of 500 civilian volunteers who will help organize the distribution of more than 10,000 toys.
