PA Borough Official Accused Of Killing Dog, Tossing It In Dumpster

The secretary of a Pennsylvania borough is facing criminal charges after allegedly killing a canine and leaving the body in a dumpster.

SAXONBURG, PA — The secretary of this small Butler County town is accused of shooting a neighbor's dog with a crossbow and tossing the canine in a dumpster outside of the municipal building that houses his office

According to court documents, Steven Thomas May, 43, has been charged with a felony count of aggravated cruelty to animals along with counts of criminal mischief, tampering with evidence, and causing damage to property.

Triblive reported that Buffalo Township police wrote in a criminal complaint that on Nov. 17,
a neighbor of May’s told investigators he lied about what happened to the dog before admitting to her that he shot the canine.

May reportedly told the neighbor that he believed the dog was a coyote.

According to police, May admitted to killing the dog and putting its body in the municipal building dumpster.
