PA Joins National Effort To Return People's Unclaimed Property, Cash
Pennsylvanians now can easily search unclaimed property data bases for nearly every state at a one-stop shop website.
HARRISBURG, PA — Pennsylvania has joined MissingMoney.com, a national site that makes it easy to search for unclaimed property and cash. The website allows people to search unclaimed property databases for 46 states, Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico.
Anyone can visit the site, endorsed by the National Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators. Pennsylvanians can also still visit patreasury.gov/unclaimed-property to search for and begin a claim for any unclaimed property that may be theirs.
Pennsylvania Treasurer Stacy Garrity said this week that the national website is especially useful for anyone who has lived in multiple states over their lifetime.

"One of my biggest priorities is returning the more than $4 billion in unclaimed property owed to Pennsylvanians, and joining MissingMoney.com expands our ability to reach more people,” Garrity said in a statement.
According to the treasurer's office, since taking office in 2001, Garrity has returned more than $270 million in unclaimed property. One in 10 Pennsylvanians is owed unclaimed property, and the average value of a claim is about $1,500.
