Pair Of 11-Year-Old Pittsburgh Girls Injured When Struck By Car
Two young girls were injured when struck by a car in Pittsburgh Wednesday.
PITTSBURGH, PA — Two 11-year-old girls were injured after they were hit by a car Wednesday on the border of the city's California-Kirkbride and Central North Side neighborhoods.
The incident occurred about 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Brighton Road and Jacksonia Street.
One of the girls was unresponsive and taken to UPMC Children's Hospital in Lawrenceville in critical condition; the other was alert and conscious and taken to the hospital in stable condition.

A medic unit was in the area on an unrelated call and witnessed the incident take place. As a result of their location, they were able to render aid immediately to both victims.
The initial investigation indicates the driver of the vehicle, an adult woman, had just made a left turn from Jacksonia onto Brighton when the juveniles attempted to cross the street.

The driver stayed on the scene and was cooperating with officers.
Police continue to investigate the incident.
