Parkway East Lane, Shoulder Restrictions Occurring This Weekend
Find out here where and when the restrictions will be in place.
PITTSBURGH, PA - Lane and shoulder restrictions could cause bottlenecks on the Parkway East this weekend. The parkway will be reduced to single lanes in each direction in various locations between the Fort Pitt Bridge and Squirrel Hill Tunnel from Friday evening through Saturday morning, PennDOT announced.
Also, restrictions will be in place over the Parkway East bridge over Frazier Street in Oakland during the following times:
- Inbound (westbound) – Friday night at 9 p.m. until noon Saturday
- Outbound (eastbound) – Friday night at 9 p.m. until two hours before the end of the Garth Brooks concert Saturday night
There's more. The ramp from the Parkway East outbound to Forbes-Avenue will be narrowed from 9 p.m. Thursday until 5 a.m. Saturday so crews can perform attenuator repairs. A creash truck will be parked in that location for motorists' safety and the ramp will remain open at all times.
