Partial Human Remains Found In Western PA Reservoir

Authorities are probing the discovery of partial human remains in a Western Pennsylvania reservoir Tuesday.

HERMITAGE, PA — Partial human remains were found Tuesday evening in the Shenango River Reservoir in Mercer County.

The Mercer County Coroner's Office said Wednesday that the remains were found around 10 p.m. near the Golden Run Wildlife Area.

The identity of the person and the cause of death have yet to be determined. It's uncertain how long the remains were in the water before being discovered, authorities said.

Search, Rescue, and Recovery has been contacted to search for additional human remains and more evidence in and around the reservoir, which is located about 75 miles north of Pittsburgh.
