Pet Expo, Sara Bareilles Top Pittsburgh Weekend Events

PITTSBURGH, PA - While there is not a signature momentous event that stands out above all others occurring in Pittsburgh this weekend, there are plenty of things to do as Thanksgiving nears. Here are Patch’s recommendations:
- Pittsburgh Pet Expo, Nov. 15, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Nov. 16, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Nov. 17, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., David L. Lawrence Convention Center, Downtown.
Don't miss the 2019 Pittsburgh Pet Expo and all the fun, including the Rescue Me, Rodeo Round Up Grooming Competition, North American Diving Dogs Competition, National Dachshund Races, Luring 101, Steel City Reptile Expo, Santa Paws Pet Photos, Ask the Vet, and more than 250 vendor booths of pet products and services.
- Penguins vs. Toronto Maple Leafs, Nov. 16, 7 p.m., PPG Paints Arena.
Will Sidney Crosby be fully recovered from the injury that caused him to miss time this week? Can the Pens top the Maple Leafs if he isn’t? Either way, fans in attendance will be given a Hockey Fights Cancer tote bag.

- Sara Bareilles, Nov. 16, 8 p.m., UPMC Events Center, Moon.
Amidst her first U.S. tour in five years, Bareilles is touring in support of her sixth album, “Amidst the Chaos.” Expect the star of the Broadway show “Waitress” to sing favorites such as “Love Song” and “I Choose You.” Emily King is the opening act.
- Hops and Vines Wine and Beer Fest, Nov. 16, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., Rivers Casino, North Shore.
The casino is the place to be Saturday for drinks, games, food and live music. The event features more than 50 varieties of beer and wine from local breweries and wineries in Pittsburgh! Advance tickets are $30 and include entry, seven samples, a commemorative glass, live entertainment, and access to concessions.

- Judy Moody and Stink, Nov. 17, 2 p.m., Byham Theater, Downtown.
Based on the popular book series by Megan McDonald, be prepared to go on a hilarious adventure live on stage with Judy Moody and Stink, the dynamic sister and brother duo. This show features: music, movement, acting, conflict resolution, communication skills.
