Pete Davidson, Oysterfest Top Pittsburgh Weekend Events
Looking for something entertaining to do this weekend? Patch has you covered.

PITTSBURGH, PA - The reality is that more people will be scurrying around looking for Mother’s Day brunch locations this weekend than scanning their arts and entertainment options. And that’s the way it should be; Mom deserves a celebration on her special day.
But there’s no lack of other activities around town. For example, Pete Davidson will be in town.
He's not just Kate Beckinsale's ex. He's not just Ariana Grande's ex. He's also a "Saturday Night Live" regular, who has done Comedy Central specials, appeared on Netflix and MTV programs, been on Jimmy Kimmel's show and rattled friends and family members a few months ago with an Instagram post referencing suicidal feelings.

- Oysterfest, May 11, 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. under the Homestead Grays Bridge
Presented by Blue Dust, one of the city's best craft beer bars, this 10th anniversary Oysterfest will feature oysters, fried foods, craft beer of course and music by the Flow Band, Hill Jordan and more. It's also just a short walk from 3 Rivers Comicon, which is moving from the virtually defunct Century III Mall to the abandoned Macy's in the Waterfront (just don't get those rare comics greasy).
- "Disney's Newsies," May 10-11, 7:30 p.m.; May 12, 2 p.m., Byham Theater, Downtown.
The classic production features the talented performers of Pittsburgh Musical Theater. Join Jack Kelly and his band of newsboys as they rally to take a stand for what's right on the streets of turn-of-the century New York City.
- 3 Rivers Comicon, May 11-12, The Waterfront
This annual event, which typically draws about 4,000 attendees, moves from its longtime home at the all-but-dead Century III Mall to the former Macy’s at The Waterfront. With events such as cosplay contests, gaming, role play experiences and panels, there will be no lack of things to do at the show. You also can shop the massive artist alley, with seasoned vendors from all over the East Coast selling comics, T-shirts, pop vinyls, games and more.
- An Evening of Pathological Conversation with Dr. Cyril Wecht, May 11, 7:30 p.m. Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center, Midland
Widely-considered one of America’s foremost experts in the field of forensic pathology, Wecht is perhaps best known for his criticism of the Warren Commission’s official findings in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, especially the so-called “single bullet theory.” He has also consulted on numerous other high-profile cases, including the assassination of Senator Robert F. Kennedy, the murder of JonBenet Ramsey, and the tragic deaths of Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, and Kurt Cobain. Hear his fascinating take on these events and more.
