Peter Gabriel To Perform In Pittsburgh

On the cusp of releasing his first album of new material in 20 years, Gabriel added more than a dozen cities to his upcoming tour.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Legendary singer-songwriter Peter Gabriel announced 13 additional dates for his 2023 tour on Tuesday and one of the added stops is in Pittsburgh. Gabriel will play at PPG Paints Arena on Sept. 23.

Gabriel, 73, was the original lead singer of Genesis. After leaving the band in 1975, he embarked on a successful career that produced hits such as "Solsbury Hill," "In Your Eyes," and "Sledgehammer."

i/o The Tour will see Gabriel playing new material from his forthcoming album i/o, as well as delving into his extensive catalogue of music, with hits, fan favorites and the unexpected. For the shows, Gabriel will be joined by regular band-mates Tony Levin, David Rhodes and Manu Katché.

“It’s been a while and I am now surrounded by a whole lot of new songs and am excited to be taking them out on the road for a spin," Gabriel said in a release. "Look forward to seeing you out there.”

Tickets for all just-announced shows go on sale March 24 at 10 a.m.

i/o, Gabriel's first album of original material in 20 years, will be out later this year. He has been releasing new songs from it monthly to coincide with the full moon. The single for March is "Playing for Time."
