PITTSBURGH, PA - If you don't mind the boring music played at most drug stores and you'd like a job that pays well, you should consider entering the pharmaceutical field. The median annual wage for pharmacists in 2018 was $126,120, according to the U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The bureau projects a 6 percent employment growth for pharmacists by 2026, with the field adding 17,600 new jobs. But employment of pharmacists is expected to decrease slightly in traditional retail settings because more prescriptions are being filled online or through mail order.
