Picklesburgh 2018: A Pittsburgh Event You'll Relish
The fourth annual Pittsburgh pickle celebration occurs this weekend.

PITTSBURGH, PA - In the words of its organizers, Picklesburgh is a “really big dill.”
It’s a culinary celebration that goes beyond the dill pickle to include international dishes, prepared foods and artisan cocktails that feature pickled ingredients; an embrace of the farm-to-table movement and the rising popularity of canning; a selection of handcrafted foods and artisan cocktails from local restaurants; informative how-to demos and author talks at the demo area; merchandise such as pickled goods, books and DIY products.
The fourth annual Picklesburgh festival takes place July 20-22 on the Roberto Clemente Bridge. Here is what you can expect at the free event:

Fred Smith of Erie will attempt to defend his “Mayor of Picklesburgh” title that he won last year by winning the annual Picklesburgh Pickle Juice Drinking Contest. Smith defeated 49 other contestants by downing 32 ounces of cold pickle juice in just 8.34 seconds.
Eighteen musical performers will provide a virtually non-stop soundtrack for the event, including Devin Moses and the the Saved, Dinosoul, Marc Reisman and the Strong Way and, Townsppl and Elias Khouri.

More than 40 food and craft vendors, including Pittsburgh Pickle Co., BRGR, Wigle Whiskey, Allegheny City Farms, Le’s Oriental and Gosia’s Pierogies.
