Pirates Change 2024 Game Starting Times

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Pirates have announced a shift in game times for the 2024 season.

All night games will start at 6:40 p.m. next year. Last season, night games started at 6:35 from April until June until the school year ended and then again in September when schools resumed classes. The remainder of the games started at 7:05 p.m.

Saturday home games prior to the All-Star break will begin at 4:05 p.m. and then move to 6:40 p.m. after it. The only exception would be the Aug. 17 game against the Seattle Mariners, which will start at 1:05 p.m. to avoid a conflict with a Steelers preseason game scheduled that evening.

Weekday day games will retain their 12:35 p.m. start times. Sunday games still will begin at 1:35 p.m.

The home opener on April 5 against the Baltimore Orioles will have a traditional 4:12 p.m. starting time, paying homage to much of the Pittsburgh area's 412 area code.

Single-game tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday.
