Pittsburgh-Area Borough PA's Most Dangerous Town, Study Says
Four of the top 10 most dangerous communities in the state are in western Pennsylvania, according to the study.
PITTSBURGH, PA - For the second straight year, a western Pennsylvania community has earned the dubious distinction of being named the state's most dangerous town. RoadSnacks, a website that analyzes various cites and states using various data, has determined that McKees Rocks again is Pennsylvani's least-safe place.
RoadSnacks has released its annual report on the state's most dangerous cities, compiling the rankings using using violent crimes and property crimes data of the more than 400 municipalites with a population of 5,000 or more. Four of the top 10 most dangerous places are on the western side of the state.
McKees Rocks took the title again based on it having the highest risk of experiencing both a violent crime and a property crime. According to researchers, you have a one in 21.2 chance of being the victim of a property crime in the borough.

Uniontown in Fayette County was ranked the state's second-most dangerous place, leapfrogging 53 other towns after its 55th-place finish last year.
Duquesne in Allegheny County was rated eighth, but that's actually good news as the town previously had the number three ranking. There also was improvement in Ambridge, Beaver County, which finished ninth after being named the second-most dangerous town in 2019.
