Pittsburgh Area Ex-Teacher Sentenced On Child Pornography Charges

A former substitute teacher and coach is off to prison following his guilty plea.

BEAVER FALLS, PA — A former teacher in the Blackhawk School District will spend 5 to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty Wednesday to five child pornography charges.

Joshua Andrews, 31, a substitute teacher and cross country coach in the district, also must register as a sex offender for 25 years as part of a negotiated plea deal.

Pennsylvania State Police launched an investigation in June 2022 after receiving an anonymous tip that Andrews was uploading child porn to the internet. The uploads were traced to his Beaver County home and a local school, according to the Beaver County District Attorney's Office.
