Pittsburgh-Area Fatal Shooting: Victim A 15-Year-Old High Schooler
Another Pittsburgh teen has had his life end with a burst of gunfire.
WILMERDING, PA — The victim of a fatal shooting Tuesday night was a 15-year-old East Allegheny High School student. The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office on Wednesday identified the teen as Dillan Shearer of Wilmerding.
Allegheny County 911 was notified of the shooting in the 300 block of Patton Street at 11:27 p.m. First responders found Shearer with a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have not detailed any specifics regarding the shooting. No suspects have been identified.

In a letter to district parents, acting East Allegheny superintendent Joe DiLucente called the news of Dillan's death "devastating."
"While school will go on, our grief will remain," DiLucente said. "We will stay strong as we navigate through this very sad and unfortunate situation."

The district has counselors and community organizations available for students and staff. North Versailles police also are providing additional support.
