Pittsburgh-Area Fugitive Apprehended After 9 Months On The Run
The search for a Pittsburgh-area fugitive that began last August finally has ended.

NORTH VERSAILLES, PA — Donte Robinson-Vearnon eluded authorities for nearly nine months after failing to appear in court for a probation violation connected to cases involving cases involving theft and firearms violations.
But Robinson-Veranon, 25, of East Pittsburgh, was apprehended Thursday after Allegheny County Sheriff's Office detectives converged on an apartment along Ice Plant Hill Road. When detectives approached the apartment, Robinson-Vearnon tried to flee by pushing out a rear window screen but then retreated back inside the unit.
A woman then opened the door and detectives took Robinson-Vearnon into custody without incident.

Following the arrest, detectives searched the apartment and found a gun in a laundry basket inside a child's room. A check of the firearm confirmed it had been stolen.
Robinson-Vearnon was taken to the Allegheny County Jail. In addition to answering for the bench warrants, he will face new charges of receiving stolen property and two additional firearms violations.
