Pittsburgh-Area High School Evacuated Due To Bomb Threat

Students at the school were evacuated and then dismissed early due to the bomb threat.

MONROEVILLE, PA — Gateway High School was evacuated Friday morning after the principal received a threat that a bomb had been placed in the building. Students are being dismissed early to allow police to sweep the building.

That threat came after Gateway received a safe to say alert this morning indicating that a social media post has been circulating regionally in Western Pennsylvania. The threat included within the text did not indicate a specific state, school district, and/or school.

Officials deemed that text to be a swatting incident.
