Pittsburgh-Area Hotel Suddenly Shuts Down
A well-known Pittsburgh hotel has abruptly shut its doors.
MONROEVILLE, PA — Two weeks after the impending closure of the Monroeville Convention Center was announced, the hotel next to it suddenly has closed.
The DoubleTree Hotel instructed its final guests to leave by Wednesday morning.
The convention center will close June 1 and be transformed into a retail space, the center's owner have announced.The center will become a Hobby Lobby.

Yaacov Amar, an agent handling asset management for the hotel owner, told Triblive that the DoubleTree is being sold and there are two offers on the building.
It is unclear who the new owners would be. According to Allegheny County property assessment records, the building's current owner is 101 Monroeville Boulevard Owner LLC.
