Pittsburgh-Area Macy's Store To Close

Macy's has sold its space in a popular Pittsburgh-area shopping destination.

PITTSBURGH, PA - The owners of the Waterfront in Homestead have purchased the Macy’s building and plan to close the department store.

M&J Wilkow and BIG Shopping Centers is considering additional restaurants and residential development for the Macy’s site, which originally housed a Kaufmann’s department store. "We're exploring several options for this building, which is located in a key corner of The Waterfront," M&J vice president Mary Sweeney said a statement.

A sale price was not disclosed, nor was a closing date for the 114,000-square-foot store.
