Pittsburgh-Area Middle School Principal Dies
A veteran Pittsburgh-area educator died over the Thanksgiving weekend.
CONNELLSVILLE, PA —Grief counselors will be on hand when Connellsville Area Middle School students return to class Tuesday following the death of Principal Geoffery Snyder over the Thanksgiving weekend.
Mr. Snyder, 49, died on Nov. 24. The cause of death was not immediately available Monday.
A lifelong Connellsville resident, Mr. Snyder was a 1992 graduate of Connellsville Area High School. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army reserves and completed his active duty requirements. He then obtained a bachelor's degree in education from California University of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Snyder had a profound pride for his town and school, as evidenced by a message he posted on the school's website.
"We encourage students to demonstrate the best of themselves and to make positive contributions to the groups and organizations to which they belong," he stated. "We strive to instill within our student body a sense of personal pride as well as a collective pride and love for our school.
