Pittsburgh-Area Police Chief Dies

The chief of a suburban Pittsburgh police force passed away on Tuesday.

RANKIN, PA — Police Chief Jeremi Gregory died unexpectedly Tuesday. The announcement was made on the borough's Facebook page.

"It is with such sadness to make this post," the message stated. "Rankin Boroughs Police Chief Jeremi Gregory passed away today. Chief, you will be greatly missed and remembered by all."

The post did not disclose a cause of death.

Gregori had been with the Rankin force since July 2018, according to his LinkedIn profile.

The borough website lists only one other officer on the force. Pennsylvania State Police told WTAE-TV they would be patrolling full-time in Rankin for the time being.
