Pittsburgh-Area Police Sgt. Battling Cancer
A veteran member of a local police force is in the struggle of his life.
CLAIRTON, PA —Police Sgt. James "Doc" Creely has been unable to work this year as he fights cancer.
"I really feel uncomfortable posting this as I do not like asking for help, unfortunately it has come to a point where I could really use help," the 14-year veteran posted on Facebook.
A benefit spaghetti dinner will be held for Creely Dec. 19 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Club 47 on Division Street.

"I am not sure how many know but this year I have been battling prostate cancer, that was spotted during my 3 month scan for remission of the throat cancer," he wrote in the post.
"Due to this I have been unable work since the beginning of this year. As of October my short term disability has run out and I now have no income. "
