Pittsburgh-Area Radio Personality Dies From Car Crash Injuries

UNIONTOWN, PA — Phil Michael, the morning host at WMBS-AM 590 in Uniontown, has died following an auto accident last month. The station announced the news in a statement, according to Inside Radio.
“It is with great sadness that we report WMBS talk show host Phil Michael passed away this morning as the result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident on Friday, May 3rd," the statement read. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Michael Family, including his wife Tricia, son Noah and stepson Ben.”
According to his station biography, Michael, 51, was a Uniontown native. He graduated from California University of Pennsylvania (now PennWest University) with a bachelor's degree in education and received a master's degree in business administration from Waynesburg University.

Michael served on the Uniontown City Council for 7 years, before moving to South Union Township, where he resided with his family.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Stephen R. Hakay Funeral Home in Uniontown.
