Pittsburgh-Area School District On Lockdown After Shooting
A Pittsburgh-area school district was placed on a modified lockdown on Wednesday after a shooting in the community.
BRENTWOOD, PA — Brentwood School District schools were placed on modified lockdown Wednesday after a shooting in the borough.
Shortly after 9 a.m., police were sent to the 100 block of Hillson Avenue for a reported shooting. First responders discovered the victim, an adult man, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.
Allegheny County police quickly identified Joseph Luman, 45, as the suspected shooter.

A vehicle matching the suspect vehicle’s description soon was spotted in the area. Brentwood Police initiated a traffic stop and a brief pursuit occurred. The vehicle stopped at the intersection of routes 51 and 88.
An adult woman, who was also determined to be a witness to the shooting, was driving the vehicle. She was detained. It was determined Luman was not in the vehicle.

Detectives are in the process of obtaining an arrest warrant for Luman and multiple agencies are currently aiding in the search. Authorities advise not approaching him if he is identified.
