CARNEGIE, PA — A standoff between a wanted fugitive and authorities required a SWAT team to resolve early Tuesday.
Allegheny County 911 received a call for medical assistance in the 300 block of Knox Avenue at around 4:30 a.m. Arriving Carnegie officers knew that a fugitive from the city of Pittsburgh occasionally stays at the residence and inquired if he was inside. He was.
The fugitive momentarily exited the residence after the officers established a perimeter around the residence but fled back inside. The county SWAT team used gas to get the fugitive out of the residence. He surrendered peacefully and was taken to the county jail.
