PITTSBURGH, PA — The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for the Pittsburgh area until 7 p.m.

There is a risk for severe weather, with damaging wind, large hail, and heavy downpours being the main threats.

The weather service advises taking shelter immediately if the watches are upgraded to a warning.
