Pittsburgh-Area Volunteer Fire Company President Dies
The leader of a Pittsburgh-area volunteer fire company for the past five years has died.
DONORA, PA — The Mon Valley is mourning the death of Donora Volunteer Fire Company president Rhys Taylor.
The company announced Monday via social media that Taylor had died. No cause of death was given.
Taylor had served as a fire company volunteer for 10 years and was president for the past five years. Professionally, he had worked as an emergency medical technician since 2018.

A public visitation will be held Friday from 2 p.m.-8 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Donora. There will be a family and firefighter-EMS-law enforcement service Friday at 7 p.m. Due to limited parking, the service will be limited to all home departments and mutual aid companies.
The funeral and firefighter service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Ringgold High School in Monongahela. The service is open to all companies; those bringing its apparatus are asked to arrive by 10 a.m.
