Pittsburgh-Area Woman Charged In Dog's Torture Death

The woman faces numerous charges in connection with the death of her nine-month-old mixed breed dog.

BALDWIN, PA — A Baldwin woman faces felony charges, including torture, in connection with the death of her dog last month.

According to court records, Timia Younger was charged with aggravated cruelty to animals-torture; aggravated cruelty to animals-causing death; two counts of neglect of animals-sustenance and water and two counts of neglect of animals-vet care.

Citing a Humane Animal Rescue report, WPXI-TV reported that Younger, 21, called animal control to have her dead nine-month-old dog picked up. The animal control officer noted the dog was severely emaciated and had sores on its extremities.

A veterinarian's forensic necropsy determined the canine's cause of death was starvation.

Younger faces a preliminary hearing on the charges on April 25.
