Pittsburgh Bar Temporarily Closes Due To Neighborhood Violence
A popular Pittsburgh bar has shut down because of safety issues.
PITTSBURGH, PA — Recent violence in the city's South Side has prompted the Carson City Saloon to temporarily close. The East Carson Street tavern announced on social media that it is shutting down for the first time in its 17-year history.
"For the safety of our staff and patrons alike, it is with a heavy heart to announce that ownership has decided to temporarily close Carson City's doors for the first time.
"After Saturday’s three shootings and the careless activity that continues to go unchecked on Carson Street, we have decided it’s best to shutter our doors until some action is taken by city leaders to support our desire to return the South Side to a safe and prosperous neighborhood and nightlife district. Hoping to reopen mid-August to kick off football season."
