Pittsburgh Chinese Restaurant Slapped With Consumer Alert
The Allegheny County Health Department issued the alert

PITTSBURGH, PA- The Allegheny County Health Department has issued a consumer alert for Wai Wai Chinese Cuisine on Liberty Avenue in Bloomfield for rodent issues and other health code violations.
Inspectors on Friday found a fresh dead mouse under shelving in the kitchen area and in the basement storage area. They also found a mix of fresh and old droppings found in the servers’ storage area, under the beverage station and behind bamboo plants in the dining room.
The restaurant was instructed to eliminate pests by approved methods, eliminate harborage areas, food sources and entry sites.

Additionally, encrusted debris was observed on a knife on a rack, dust and mold buildup was observed on a fan guard in the walk-in cooler and encrusted food debris was found on the exterior of a reach-in freezer.
Inspectors also found cooked chicken from the previous day with a 48-degree temperature reading. The food was discarded.
