Pittsburgh Could See Severe Storms Saturday

PITTSBURGH, PA — An approaching cold front could trigger severe storms in the Pittsburgh area today.

The National Weather Service says there is a marginal risk of severe thunderstorms late this afternoon and early this evening. The primary threats from these storms are damaging winds and hail.

While the storms will not be widespread, the weather service advises keeping an eye on the sky if you have outdoor plans.

The cold front will end the heat wave that has gripped the region for much of the week. Although today's high temperature will approach 90 degrees again, Sunday's high is expected to be around 80.
