Pittsburgh Craft Beer Week Will Leave You Tapped Out
Eighteen breweries combine with 44 sponsors to schedule a dizzying 150 -plus events.

PITTSBURGH, PA - Pittsburgh Craft Beer Week has become so popular that all of its festivities can’t be crammed into seven days. That’s what happens when 18 breweries combine with 44 sponsors to schedule more than 150 events.
This year’s event begins April 21 and runs through April 30 and features collaboration events, pairing dinners and more. Some of the highlights of this ultimate pub crawl:
- April 21: Keglet scavenger hunt, all day at the Pig Iron Public House in Cranberry.
Contestants can search for Keglets filled with prizes and gift cards by following clues on social media on where they are hidden.

- April 22: Record Store Day Bottle-Record Swap, 12 p.m.-5 p.m. at ShuBrew in Harmony.
ShuBrew is opening their production brewery to the public for the first time ever for a record and bottle swap. Bring your favorite record to listen to or bring an extra copy and make a trade.
- April 23: Pancake Apocalypse: A Flight of World Class Breakfast Beers & All You Can Eat Pancakes, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Caliente Pizza & Draft House, in Mt. Lebanon.
Wash down those hotcakes with world-class breakfast beers that include Founders KBS,Weyerbacher’s Sunday Morning Stout, Alesmith Speed Way Stout Nibs & Beans Variant & Evil Twin/Westbrook Imperial Mexican Biscotti Cake Break.

- April 24: Paints and Pints, 6 p.m.-9 p.m. at Grist House Brewery in Millvale.
Enjoy a night of creativity and painting while enjoying your favorite Grist House beers. During this 3-hour art night, participants will paint a beer-lovers artwork on an artisan canvas. Three beers will be complimentary to add some variety to your palette and let loose your inner Van Gogh. Cost is $45.
- April 25: Between Two Fermenters: Collaboration, 7 p.m.-9 p.m. at East End Brewing in Homewood.
A talk about beer collaboration in Pittsburgh featuring Scott Smith of East End Brewing, Al Kominski of Pizza Boy Brewing and Caroline Moore, author of “Punk Rock Entrepreneur.” Hal Klein of Pittsburgh Magazine will be the moderator.
- April 26: Allegheny City Brewing: Animal Rescue League-Western Pennsylvania Humane Society Collaboration Beer Fundraiser, 6 p.m.-9 p.m. at Allegheny City Brewing on the North Side.
The brewery will be serving Pawsitivity, a wheat beer brewed with peach puree and infused with white tea, and donating $1 to the Animal Rescue League-Western Pennsylvania Humane Society for each pint sold. Humane Society volunteers will be on hand with adoptable dogs.
- April 27: Troegs Beer Tasting and Cupcake Pairing, 7 p.m.-10 p.m. at Cousins Lounge in Millvale.
Cousins will pair Troegs brews with specialty cupcakes made by local baker and former Millvale resident, Theresa Richte.
- April 28: Craft Carnival, 4:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. at Industry Public House in North Fayette.
Join the folks from Industry and more than 30 other craft breweries and distilleries to play games, listen to a few exceptional bands and enjoy some fantastic brews.
- April 29: 13th Annual Pedal Pale Ale Keg Ride, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at East End Brewing in Homewood.
The starting point is East End Brewing, but you have to ride to find out your destination. Expect a ride of between 6 and 11 miles at a gentle, slow pace. Registration is $25 and ends April 28 at noon.
- April 30: .2017 Brewers Olympics, 2 p.m.-8 p.m. at Grist House Brewery in Millvale.
Local breweries will compete in feats of strength, agility, and knowledge in the pursuit of this year’s crown. The $20 ticket provides entry and an event t-shirt with proceeds benefiting the Millvale Community Library.
