Pittsburgh Dad's Family Members Finally Appear In Video

Watch them here in the new Pittsburgh Dad "Street Light Stories" video.

PITTSBURGH, PA - Another milestone has been reached in the Pittsburgh Dad saga: The family members of the quintessential YouTube yinzer, for years as invisible as the adults in Peanuts cartoons and TV specials, finally are shown in a new 13-minute short film released Wednesday.

“Street Light Stories” and concerns Pittsburgh Dad’s futile attempt to enjoy dinner with his wife and children while being interrupted by visiting neighbors and family members. Shot last year, it can be considered the most ambitious offering yet in the Pittsburgh Dad oeuvre.

“Based upon the Pittsburgh Dad show. It's an authentic portrait of one family's summer evening in 1987,” states a post on the “Street Light Stories” Facebook page. “We should just call the film `the one where Pittsburgh Dad's family gets to actually speak!’"

As you can see in the video below, speak they do. But don’t get used to seeing the family members. Wooten and Preksta have described “Street Light Stories” as a “fun experiment.” Moving forward, they will be as invisible as they’ve always been.

In the unlikely event you’re unfamiliar with the character, his online sitcom focuses on the funny phrases and frustrations of a blue-collar Pittsburgh father. It was created by actor Curt Wootton and director Chris Preksta and has attracted 27 million YouTube views since its debut in October 2011.
