Pittsburgh Eateries Hit With Consumer Alerts In 2020's First Half

These restaurants and markets received consumer alerts during the first six months of the year.

PITTSBURGH, PA — With many bars and restaurants closing for several months during the coronavirus outbreak, Allegheny County Health Department inspectors issued far fewer consumer alerts in the first half of 2020 than they did in 2019.

Still, there were a number of restaurants and markets that were cited for various violations. What follows is a list of them, the violations, when the alert was posted and when it was removed.

Violations: Unsafe holding temperatures; unsafe cooling of prepared foods; barehand contact with
food that is ready-to-eat; lack of convenient hand washing sink; insufficient refrigeration; lack of a certified food protection manager; unable to demonstrate knowledge in food safety; and engaging in specialized processes without a standard procedure.
