Pittsburgh Facing Strong To Severe Storms: National Weather Service

PITTSBURGH, PA — Western Pennsylvania is facing two rounds of strong to severe storms between now and Friday morning.

According to the National Weather Service, the first wave will be mainly focused across eastern Ohio and before moving through the area and will diminish somewhat before 6 p.m.. The second will occur in the Pittsburgh area between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m.

The chance of precipitation is 90 percent this evening, with as much as a half inch of rain anticipated.

On Friday, expect rain before 2 p.m. with considerably colder temperatures. The high will be in the upper 50s, with another quarter of an inch of rain possible.

The cooler temperatures will remain over the weekend. Saturday's high for Pittsburgh's St. Patrick's Day Parade is expected to be 57, while Sunday's high is not expected to leave the upper 40s.
