PITTSBURGH, PA — The region's first 8 p.m. newscast will debut next month on WPKD-TV, which is branded as KDKA+. The one-hour newscast will debut Jan. 8 and feature newscasters from KDKA+ sister station KDKA-TV.
"Primetime News on KDKA+" at 8 p.m. will be anchored by Jessica Guay, who moves into the role from her weekend anchor position. Meteorologist Ray Petelin will anchor the weather coverage.
Plans for the new newscast were announced in September, when WPCW-TV ended its affiliation with The CW Network, obtained its new call letters and became KDKA+.
