Pittsburgh Fugitive Shooting Suspect Apprehended

Law enforcement officials tracked down a suspect in a Pittsburgh shooting last month. He was located in another state.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Pittsburgh Police Violent Crime Unit detectives and the Fugitive Apprehension Unit, working with the U.S. Marshals Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force, have taken Richard Worley into custody. Worley was apprehended early Tuesday, Pittsburgh Public Safety officials said.

Worley was wanted for the August 20 shooting of a woman in the West End.

Police were dispatched to Wabash Street at Saw Mill Run Boulevard, where they found the victim with gunshot wounds to her hand and leg. She survived her wounds are provided police with identifying information about Worley, whom she knows.

Worley faces multiple charges, including criminal attempt homicide, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm prohibited, firearms not to be carried without a license and recklessly endangering another person.
