Pittsburgh To Get New Music Venue On Old Civic Arena Site

Hurdles have been cleared for a new $64 million concert hall on the former Civic Arena property Get the details here.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Plans for a new 4,500-seat music venue on the former site of the Civic Arena site have advanced, with construction slated to begin this fall and the concert hall set to open in 2026.

The Pittsburgh Urban Redevelopment Authority and the Pittsburgh-Allegheny County Sports & Exhibition Authority approved revisions to the $64 million project on Thursday. An adjacent parking garage was part of the original music venue plan but that portion of the project is on hold primarily because of the construction cost.

“We are ready to move forward with our plans for the new venue, which will be a great addition to the neighborhood and bring even more shows to the region," Tom Loudermilk, president of Live Nation Pittsburgh, said in a release. Live Nation will operate the facility.
