Pittsburgh Gets Whoville Pop-Up Bar

PITTSBURGH, PA - Here's an idea that the late Dr. Seuss probably would love: a holiday pop-up bar with the theme coming great from Seuss' classic "How the Grinch Stole Christmas." The Whoville bar will be at the Hilton Garden Inn University Place from Dec. 6 through Dec. 21.

Located in the hotel's mezzanine-level lounge from 3:30 to closing each night, the event will feature a Whoville family living room, Grinch’s lair, and other Grinch set recreations where guests can transport themselves into the Grinch’s world. While life-size cardboard characters will be staged for photos, the Grinch himself is expected attend and greet - or perhaps insult - guests.

“Participants are encouraged to dress up for the event or wear their favorite ugly holiday sweater.” said Jill Curry, Hilton Garden Inn Pittsburgh University Place’s General Manager. “We just can’t guarantee that the Grinch will behave when he sees your outfit.”
