Pittsburgh Getting Trendy New Asian Restaurant
A New York-based eatery specializing in Northern Chinese cuisine is coming to town.
PITTBURGH, PA — SouthSide Works is getting a new Asian restaurant specializing in Northern Chinese cuisine. Nan Xiang is expected to open in the first quarter of 2024 in the neatly 6,000-square-foot space formerly occupied by Sake.
The news was first reported in the Pittsburgh Business Times, which referenced a social media post announcing the restaurant's impending arrival.
According to the restaurant's web site, the first Nan Xiang opened in Flushing, New York, in 2006.

"Our signature dishes are the restaurant’s unrivaled crab and pork soup dumplings, plentiful steamed buns and Shanghainese dim sum," a post on the website stated. "Other popular dishes include pan-fried crispy noodles, fried rice cakes, scallion pancakes with sliced beef, fish fillet & pickled cabbage noodle soup and pan-fried dumplings."
