Pittsburgh Has Severe Storms Possibilty, Bad Air Quality

PITTSBURGH, PA — Showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop late this afternoon
and evening, according to the National Weather Service. Some of the storms could become strong to severe.

The main threat will be damaging wind gusts and large hail. Storms may also produce heavy downpours, increasing the risk for localized flooding.

The storms are expected to develop after 5 p.m. The chance of precipitation is 60 percent.

The state Department of Environmental Protection has issued a Code Orange Air Quality Action Day has been issued for the entire state today. Canadian wildfire smoke again is to blame.
