Pittsburgh July 4th 2018: What's Open, Closed Around Town
Here's your Patch guide to navigating the holiday before the fireworks.

PITTSBURGH, PA - With Independence Day rapidly approaching, you might be wondering what facilities will be open, closed or operating on a different schedule. Wonder no more. Patch has compiled a list that should answer any questions you might have.
- City, county, state and federal offices: Closed.
- Port Authority of Allegheny County: Buses and the T will operate on holiday schedules. The Mon Incline runs from 8:45 a.m. to midnight; the Duquesne Incline will operate from 7 a.m. to 12:45 a.m.
- Banks: Most are closed, but some supermarket branches will have limited hours.
- Post offices: Closed. There will be no regular mail delivery.
- Liquor stores: Stores will open at their scheduled time. All stores will close at 5 p.m.
- Refuse collection: In Pittsburgh communities, there will be no Wednesday pickup and trash collection will be a day later than usual for the rest of the week. In suburban communities, check with your individual municipality.
- Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh: All branches closed.
- Pittsburgh senior centers: Closed.
- Pittsburgh recreation centers: Closed.
