Pittsburgh Light Up Night 2018: What You Need To Know
Ready or not, the holidays are upon us - and the festivities kick off locally on Friday with Light Up Night.

PITTSBURGH, PA - The holiday season in Pittsburgh officially kicks off Friday with the annual Comcast Light Up Night festivities Downtown. Actually a daylong celebration, the event includes Christmas tree lightings, food vendors, live entertainment, fireworks and horrifically bad traffic jams.
But let’s focus on the fun stuff. Here’s what you can expect for the 58th annual Light Up Night:
- Tree Lighting Ceremonies
Between 12 p.m. and 5:45 p.m., tree lighting ceremonies will occur at the U.S. Steel Tower, Allegheny County Courthouse, City-County Building, PPG Plaza and One Oxford Centre.

- Food vendors
You’ll find anything you need to satisfy your appetite as more than 30 food vendors can be found on Fort Duquesne Boulevard, EQT Plaza, Penn Avenue and Stanwix Street and Market Square.
- Live Entertainment
Grammy winning artists A Great Big World, known for the hit single, “Say Something,” will headline the Comcast Main Stage. Elley Duhe, the YouTube star bet known for the “Happy Now,” single will be among the performers at the BNY Mellon New Music Stage at Sixth Street and Fort Duquesne Boulevard. Pittsburgh artists Joe Grushecky and Jeff Jimerson will play at the Bank of America’s Rockin’ Blues Stage at Stanwix and Penn, while the EQT Jazzmaster Stage on Liberty Avenue will feature James Torme - son of the legendary Mel Torme.

- Fireworks Finale, 10 p.m., Fort Duquesne Boulevard.
Launched from the Allegheny River, the BNY Mellon Fireworks Finale comes from the spectacular display by the first family of pyrotechnics, Zambelli Fireworks. The display will be synchronized to favorite holiday tunes and broadcast live on Q92-2.
