Pittsburgh Light Up Night 2023 Date Set

PITTSBURGH, PA — Mark you calendars, Western Pennsylvania residents. The Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership has announced the date of this year's Highmark Light Up Night, a holiday staple since 1960 that attracts tens of thousands of people to the Downtown area.

The festivities, which traditionally kick off the holiday season in the Pittsburgh area, will be held on Nov. 18. Although the event was held on the Friday before Thanksgiving, this will be the third consecutive year it will be held on a Saturday.

The partnership said further information will be coming soon, but said in a release to expect "more fireworks than ever."

Light Up Night events typically include performances by national recording artists, tree lighting ceremonies throughout the day, ice skating at the PPG Plaza rink and the aforementioned fireworks finale.
