Find out here how much snow the Pittsburgh area is expected to receive.

PITTSBURGH, PA — The lack of snow thus far this winter in the Pittsburgh area, may make the snow the area is about to receive look like more than it is. But it won't be a blizzard.

The National Weather Service advises there will be areas of light snow through mid-afternoon, with snow increasing later today through early Tuesday. Expect to see total accumulations of 1 to 2 inches in the Pittsburgh area.

East of the city, a winter weather advisory has been issued from 6 p.m. today through 2 p.m. on Tuesday for the Laurel Highlands and higher terrain areas of West Virginia, where the highest snow totals are expected.
